Zion Williamson with LeBron James had their first encounter this season and fans saw a truly eye-catching match.
That’s what LeBron James sent to young talent Zion Williamson after he scored 40 points, helping to bring the Los Angeles Lakers to a 118-109 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans in the match just ended.
The battle between LeBron and Zion is called the battle between the present and the future. While LeBron is leading and winning, Zion Williamson is no less competitive. The rookie of the Pelicans got 29 points despite being overshadowed by a superb performance from the other side of the battle line.
Zion Williamson vs LeBron James
In the 56th match of the Regular Season, the 17th season of his career, LeBron James got used to the pressure. Even if experts, analysts and fans blew the game this morning to the blue cloud, the “king” was calm enough and delivered a top-notch performance.
In other words, LeBron knew Zion would come. So he showed off his level of MVP, his former NBA champion, to the boy who just played 13 matches in the NBA.
Over the first two innings, James got 15 points. But in the third half, superstar Los Angeles Lakers unexpectedly heated the machine with 11 consecutive points before closing the match with 40 points. This is also the highest number of LeBron James since the beginning of the season (season-high).
Besides Zion Williamson, a former Los Angeles Lakers player, Brandon Ingram scored the most points for New Orleans. Now 22 years old and newly selected to All-Star, Ingram scored 34 points against his former team. However, that was not enough to help him and his teammates win.
New Orleans Pelicans could not stop LeBron James in this match
The Playoffs of the New Orleans Pelicans are coming to an end. Fearing a record of 25-33, the Pelicans are trying their best to chase the 8th place of the Memphis Grizzlies. After this defeat, New Orleans was 3.5 games away from Memphis.
If it makes it into the postseason, it is likely that today’s match will be a preview of the 1-8 Playoffs match between the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans. This promises extremely competitive performances surrounding former Lakers, Anthony Davis and especially LeBron James against Zion Williamson.
