The NBA has been around for a while. Fans have been treated to spectacular and remarkable moments where records were set, and others shattered. Some may be ordinary moments, but others are truly interesting. In this article, we have rounded up three impressive records you’ve probably never heard of.
Biggest Comebacks
Coming back to a game you were losing isn’t something out of this world. But then, there are some remarkable comebacks where the winners closed some really huge gaps. The Utah Jazz shocked the entire world when they came back from a 36-point deficit with 20 seconds left in the 2nd quarter to beat the Denver Nuggets in 1996. Denver opened the 36 points lead, leaving Utah trailing 73-33 but were outshined in the remaining time with the game ending 107 – 103.
Most Points in a Game
Wilt Chamberlain was a truly gifted basketball star. The former LA Lakers centerman holds the record for the most points in a game. He demolished the New York Knicks in 1962 by scoring 100 points while plying his trade for Philadephia Warriors. He also holds the record for the most points in a half, 59, from the same game. On the other hand, Klay Thomson holds the record for the most points in a quarter, 37, against Sacramento Kings while playing for the Golden State Warriors.
Youngest Player to be Drafted
The youngest player to be drafted into the NBA is Andrew Bynum. At 17 years and 249 days, he was the 10th overall pick for the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2005 NBA draft. He also holds the record for the youngest player in the NBA when he made his debut for the Lakers at 18 years and six days.
The above are genuinely remarkable records in the history of the NBA. Which one will be broken?
